Competition Rules
This competition is not intended to be a serious competition. Let's face it, the prizes are bragging rights and a cheap trophies. However, we would like to make sure that everything runs smoothly and fairly. Below you will find the rules and guidelines for the competition. We reserve the right to change or alter the rules at any time. Judges reserve the right to refuse food that appears uncooked or dangerous. Good Luck!
I reserve the right to rig the contest so that I might actually win this year.Best Meat
We will start with the big one. Read below for a few rules and guidelines.
Entries in the Best Meat category may be beef, pork, fish, poultry, or any other type of edible meat.
Meat may be prepared using any fashion (smoking, grilling, boiling (if your name is Nick), but must at least be finished using some type of outdoor cooking method such as grilling or smoking.
ALL meat must be fully cooked. If a judge determines that the meat is under cooked, the entry will be disqualified.
Contestants must present 3 samples for judging.
Contestant samples must be placed in approved container (4 oz cup with lid). This will allow the judges to taste all the food and will reduce waste.
Contestants will be issued a random number which will need to be written or attached to the approved container. No number, no judging.
The only exception to rule 5 is ribs. Contestants may present one (1) rib to for each judge. The rib must be in plastic zip lock.
Contestants must prepare enough meat for at least 10 people. More is always better.
It is up to the contestant to keep the meat at the desired temperature until time of judging.
Judge's ruling stands. No exceptions.
Have fun. This whole event is for good-natured competition.
