FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is BVQ?
A: Saturday, October 21st, 2023
Q: What time is BVQ?
A: TBD, but it usually runs from 12:00 - 5:00
Q: Where is BVQ?
A: It is in front of 260 Buena Vista Place.
Q: What's the point of BVQ?
A: This event provides a great opportunity for everyone to get out and meet your neighbors. Why? First, there are a lot of amazing people on this street, and you are one of them. Also, knowing your neighbors helps to increase security in our neighborhood. Lastly, who doesn't enjoy good friendly competition, great food, and the chance to see a herd of young kids running down the street?
Q: How can I compete?
A: It is easy. First, you have to register. There is a meat category, a dessert category, and a drink category. After you register, you just get ready to compete! Winners can be surprising. Just ask Nick P who placed with boiled meat last year. All we ask is that you prepare enough for others to enjoy.
Q: What if I don't want to compete?
A: Don't worry about it! Come anyway! If you would like, you can prepare a side item. We just want you there.
Q: What's this Rib Run thing?
A: We wanted to have something for the kids to participate in. The Rib Run is a short .25K that goes out and back. Kids must be 12 and under. There are no prizes for placing, but every kid will receive a race bag and a medal for finishing. Make sure you register the kids so we have enough!
Q: How can I help?
A: This is actually the most asked question. If you want to help, you can bring a side item (chips, etc), bring drinks such as soda, water, or juice for the kids, or you can bring supplies such as paper towels, plates, utensils, etc. If you would like to bring any of these items or would like to know what we need, please email info@bvqfest.com and I will let you know. OR if you prefer to just contribute financially, we will have a bucket set up for you to drop something in.
